Add Client Page

When you add a client, your permission to the new client will be Owner by default. For more information about client permissions, see Permissions

At least one of the six fields – First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, City, State, and Zip – must be unique. You cannot add a client if the field values you are entering for the new client already exist in the system.

  1. On the Clients page, click Add Client.
  2. On the Add Client page, enter the client’s First Name and Last Name. These two fields are required.
  3. You may complete the following optional fields: Middle NameCity, State, and Zip, Office Location, and Client ID. About Client ID: The Client ID can be up to 50 characters and can consist of any combination of upper or lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.
  4. You can take this opportunity to add client plans (.it files) from a local or network drive. Click Add Plans. Drop Planner files (.it files) into the gray area on the Add Plans dialog or click the gray area to browse for the files, then click Close on the Add Plans dialog. See also, Import Client Plans
  5. Specify the client permissions.
    1. In the Add User of Team field, begin typing the name of the user or team. When the auto-complete list opens, click to select the user or team. The name of the selected user or team now appears in the field.
    2. The permission field, click the down arrow to specify the permission you want to grant to the selected user or team.
    3. Click Add. The user or team, and the assigned permission, now appear in the Grantee and Permission columns.

If your Subscription Administrator has enabled firm-wide permissions, those permissions will be listed in the Grantee and Permission columns. If you have set up your My Client Permissions, then those permissions will be listed. (If any conflicts exist between your My Client Permissions and the permissions specified by your Subscription Administrator, then your My Client Permissions will be applied.) After adding the client, you can always make changes to your client’s permissions on the Edit Client Page > Permissions Tab or by running the Permissions Wizard.
