- Resolved an issue where users were being signed out of the web session while working on a plan. Where the inactivity timeout policy was set to 1 hour or less, it has been changed to 12 hours. Where the maximum session policy was set to 8 hours, it has been changed to 12 hours. System Administrators and Policy Managers can change this setting on the Policies page, but reduced settings may result in unintended disconnections.

- Income Tax Planner now has a new administration and authentication system. Administrators can now manage users, password policies, and sign-in policies there.
- Income Tax Planner now supports Single Sign-On (SSO).
- My Client Permissions is now available on the Clients page.
- Administrators can now access the Transfer Client Ownership command on the Clients page.
- Administrators can now access and manage Teams and Application Settings such as Calculation Options, Permissions Polices, Plans Policies, and Recycle Bin Policies from the gear icon in the navigation bar.

- The data encryption protocol has been upgraded to Transport Layer Security 1.2 (TLS 1.2).
- The program now requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 or higher. The program will prompt you to download .Net 4.6.1, if required.
- Calculation Options have been updated to comply with IRS Notice 2018-83.
- Resolved an issue with New Jersey resident and non-resident state specifications.

- Teams are now available in all subscriptions. The concept of an Enterprise account, which was required in order to have the Teams feature, has been eliminated.

Several enhancements have been made to help make key program features easier to understand and use:
- The Subscription Administrator’s Security page has be renamed to Policies page.
- Alternative Email has been renamed to Password Recovery Email.
- The concept of “sharing clients” is now known as “granting permissions”:

- The Share Clients Wizard has been renamed to Permissions Wizard.
- The Edit Client page > Share tab has been renamed to Edit Client page > Permissions tab.
- The QuickShare tab on the Setup page has been renamed to My Client Permissions tab.
- The QuickShare Policy section on the Subscription Administrator’s Policies page (formerly, Security page) has been renamed to My Client Permissions Policy.
- The Setup page > Contact tab has been renamed to Setup page > Security tab.
Users can now:
- Take a brief tour highlighting the features of the program.
- Access the program by entering a verification code sent to the user’s cell phone or email, if the verification code policy is enabled by Subscription Administrator.
- Manage their Password Recovery Email (formerly, Alternative Email) and their Verification Code contact methods. See Setup page > Security tab (formerly, Setup page > Contact tab).
- Click a link to find out more about the web based BNA Estate & Gift Tax Planner.
Subscription Administrators can now:
- Take a brief tour highlighting the administrative and operational features of the program.
- Set firm-wide policy to grant client permissions to users’ teams or to everyone. If enabled, then whenever a user adds a client, client permission will be granted to the user’s teams or to everyone in the firm. See the Default Permissions Policy section on the Policies page (formerly, Security page).
- Set firm-wide policy to require all users to enter a verification code in addition to their password in order to access the program. See the Verification Code Policy section on the Policies page (formerly, Security page).
- Reset a user’s account verification phone number and email.

- Users can now use a new QuickStart to create a plan for grouping passive activities to minimize or eliminate Net Investment Income Tax under the Affordable Care Act. See Grouping Passive Activities to Minimize NIIT on the QuickStarts page.
- Subscription Administrators can now:
- Transfer client ownership from one user to another by using the new Transfer Client Ownership wizard.
- Transfer client ownership when removing a user with Owner client privilege by using the new Remove User wizard. When removing a user with Owner client privilege, the Remove User wizard opens automatically.
- Use the Configuration Guide to set up their infrastructure proactively to ensure the successful use of the program.
- Request data conversion services from Bloomberg BNA when migrating from the desktop program to BNA Income Tax Planner Web.
- Made several changes to improve program performance, reliability, and security, including:
- Implemented Spoon server load balancing.
- Improved DPI handling for BNA Income Tax Planner Web.
- Resolved an issue where changes made to the Subscription Administrator’s Security tab were not being saved if subscription has no clients.
Version 2014.2.1 (5/18/14)
- Users can now:
- Update many client privileges for many users at once via the new Share Clients wizard.
- Enter a Client ID when adding a client.
- Subscription Administrators can now:
- Enable or disable Personal Plans for everyone in the firm via the Security page.
- Enable or disable Personal Plans for individual users via the Edit User page.
- Purge all items in the Recycle Bins of all users.
- Track more user activities in the Audit Trail:
- Enabling and disabling Personal Plans is now recorded.
- Client ID is now recorded with client-related activities.
- Records related to uploading files have more detail.
- Updated the help topic of the Edit User page to clarify the difference between the My Clients page and the Clients tab on the Edit User page. For Subscription Administrators, these two client lists can be different by design.
- Updated the message on the results page presented when users conduct a search in BNA Income Tax Planner Web help. Users are now prompted to try conducting their search in the Planner’s help if they are not finding what they are looking for.
- Made several changes to improve program performance, reliability, and security.
- Updated the system to require Microsoft .Net Framework.
- Improved the process and user experience surrounding the backup and recovery of client plans.
- Resolved issues surrounding the Recycle Bin:
- Recycle Bin now properly refreshes after user actions.
- Practitioners can no longer see clients and plans in the Recycle Bin when their client privilege is Blocked.
- Practitioners can now see clients and plans in their Recycle Bins when their privilege is granted through a team.
- Resolved issues surrounding Personal Plans:
- Users can no longer access Personal Plans from the Recent Plans list without entering a PIN.
- When presented with the option to restore a backup of a Personal Plan, users can now save the backup plan to their Personal Plans area.
- Resolved an issue where browser detection was preventing certain user actions.
- Resolved an issue where Subscription Administrators were receiving an inaccurate confirmation message after removing a team.
- Resolved an issue where the Save controls in the Planner remained unavailable after saving a QuickStart plan to a client.
- Resolved an issue where clicking the “lock” icon on the Sign In page was causing the browser to stall.
- Resolved an issue where QuickStart videos were not correctly displaying when users with desktop computers attempted to resize the viewing window.

- Resolved an issue where accidentally double-clicking a plan link instead of single-clicking a plan link produced a bottleneck. Double-clicking a plan link is now disabled.

- Resolved issues surrounding the “save” feature in the Planner:
- Closing a saved plan by opening a new plan or closing the Planner after saving a plan no longer produces a prompt to save.
- Clicking the Save button multiple times (double-clicking) no longer produces an “operation failed” message or causes the program to close.
- Trying to close the Planner when unsaved data exist now produces a prompt to save before closing.
Version 2012.3/Hotfix2 (11/15/12)
- Resolved issues that occurred when running the program on a computer with Windows 7 64-bit operating system:
- Trying to launch the Planner or save a plan no longer produces a “print driver” message.
- Trying to save a plan no longer produces a “connection reset” message.
- California Proposition 30 – The program has been updated to reflect the new increased California income taxes on high income individuals and statewide sales taxes. The personal income tax increases take effect retroactively to January 1, 2012 and will be in effect until December 31, 2018.

Version 2012.2.3 (8/17/12)
- Subscription Administrators now have an easy way to allow client sharing with everyone in the firm and to specify the firm’s default setting for the new “Share Clients with Everyone” feature, located on the Security page.
- Users can now easily share clients with everyone in the firm. Users have total freedom to change the default privilege of the new Everyone team and to remove the Everyone team from the Share tab for a particular client.

- The program has been changed to use port 443 for all HTTPS traffic, thus improving the user experience when using the secure features of the program such as installing the Spoon plugin, opening a plan, or importing multiple client files.
